Top Tips For Choosing Your Wedding Car

Choosing your wedding car is an important decision in the wedding planning process, but with so much choice and so many factors to consider, it can become quite overwhelming. So here’s our top 5 tips when choosing the right wedding car…

Vintage or modern?

Are you looking for a vintage style car such as the Imperial Viscount or Beauford or do you prefer the latest Rolls-Royce? This is probably the biggest decision you will have to make when searching for your wedding car. Consider the weather and mileage as older vehicles may not be suited to travelling long distances or in colder weather.

Choose a reputable company

Ask family and friends for recommendations. Read the company’s reviews- what do their previous clients have to say about them? Don’t be tempted by cheap deals… it’s better to pay slightly extra for a trusted, reputable company who won’t let you down on the biggest day of your life.

View the car

Go and see the car if possible. Is it exactly as you imagined? Or maybe they have something else you like better. It’s also a good way to make sure the company own the vehicle and aren’t simply a broker.

Give yourself plenty of time

Always incorporate at least 30-60 minutes for delays and unpredictabilities to your schedule when booking your wedding car. Pay a little extra for that peace of mind or you may have to cancel that photoshoot at the park because you’ve run out of time. Discuss overtime rates at the time of booking and more importantly whether it will be possible to extend the hire on the day. Many unscrupulous companies will charge you extortionate late fees so please be aware.

Book early to avoid disappointment!

This is especially true for weddings during the busier summer periods and on weekends. Once you’ve identified the vehicle and are happy with the quote… put down a deposit and secure it!
